     In this article, I am writing about how to get a domain and free web hosting.

Domain name

 Domain name is string which identifies your business, organization, eCommerce platform, etc on the WWW (World Wide Web) internet. Domain name suffix with .in, .com, .org.

How to buy domain name?

      First, you can buy a Google domain through Google. On Google search, type "Google domain" then Google domain page (https://domains.google/) will load you can sign up with your Mail account.

Are Google domains free?

No, Google domains are not free. But with simple steps, we can buy a Google domain. I bought geekssystems.in  name from Google domain.  For most of the domain names charge is 860/Rs Per year on 2020.

 

In Google domain, you can search domain names 

Then search your business name or blog name.

 While search you can see Aftermarket   

What are Aftermarket Domain names?

Domains which are already used but without renewing it becomes unused. That domain name on sale is called Aftermarket Domain names.

Let's see, How to host a website. There are several hosting services are available and so many plans are also available. For example: GO Daddy, Host gear, and also some other service providers.

How to host a website free?

We can host our website in Google cloud or firebase. For my website geekssystem.in.  I selected Firebase hosting.

1.  firebase console login

2.  Firebase CLI (command line interface)

3.  Install developer nodejs  (Visual studio code)

4.  On firebase console select Hosting then follow other steps what they mentioned there

5. You make a empty folder and try to initialize firebase then you can see one new folder in your empty folder named as public

6. In Public folder you put your index file, css, js etc 

7. Then deploy your site into firebase 

8. Then you can see you website on firebase

9. Now we need to connect our website in firebase to Google domain

• Logon Firebase Console
• Click on Hosting 
• Then you can see Connect custom Domain

You can see A Records under quick set up 

Copy "A" records 

Logon your Google Domain

Manage DNS (left side of menu)

Paste the records under "custom resource records"

There are 2 records so please use "ADD" button 

 come back to Firebase console

 check for status it will be "Pending"

 After few hours status will be  "Success"

After testing my site geekssystems.in .I found my image format are in old format.

How can you get traffic from other source or channels?

While Google search you can see some links are popup first. Most of the users click on the first link. How can we make our website to popup first? I also done a research on that for my website geekssystems.in

Then I noted we have to list our business or website in other directories there is lot of directories is available.

 Then I created my account in the above social media. 

But I didn’t drop my journey I tried another search on Google then followed one link. Then I searched that link is registered where?

How can I see my website back links?

 

You should signup in Google console. And you have to verify your website by using an option Ad Property

on left side of google console

After verification you can add sitemaps

Synthetic Records

Using Synthetic Record in Google domain. We can direct our root domain to www.  

After linking my website with google domain(geekssystems.in). I realized that my domain name is without www or website without www. But it finely loaded. The domain name without www or website without www is named as the naked domain. 

Now let see how can we change the naked domain to www?

 Logon to Google domain with your user credntials

 

Then you can see your domain name details (geekssystems.in) / your domain name 

on left side there is DNS 

 

Click on DNS

 

 

 There is 3 fields in DNS

1. One dropdown for subdomain forward, Dynamic DNS, G suite 

2. subdomain

3. Destination URL

1. 1.  

      Select sundomain forward from first dropdown 

       in subdomain type  www

      give url (geekssystems.in/your domain name)

           enable permenant redirect 

          enable forward path 

         enable ssl

   Then you will recieve one warning message then wait for some hours. 

      Then you try with your domain name (www.geekssystems.in)
